Portraits


No portrait shoot is ever the same, to be honest it is a mix of our personalities, mine and yours. I have often spent time before a shoot just chatting and watching. People tend to relax over a cup of coffee, they tend to gravitate towards their favourite chair or usual place at the kitchen table. Often adopting  their normal mannerisms, this is, I think, an essential part of a portrait. If the natural light isn't great then sometimes a bit of help is needed but hopefully it remains as natural as possible. So in my opinion the best preparation for a shoot is to put on the kettle and relax.

Taking a portrait needs a little time especially if you want something special. I want to get the best results but I don't want to rush the shoot. The aim is for us to enjoy the shoot and get some great photos.
